Large Parties & Reservations

  • Parties of 5 or more people will be charged a 20% service fee.

  • Parties of 10 or more people can contact us here.

  • Table minimums applied to large parties and semi-private events do not include taxes and service charge, which will be applied to guests’ final bill.

  • For Friday & Saturday Dinner Reservations: We may be able to seat large parties only at the following times: 5pm, 5:30pm, 8pm or 8:30pm. Please contact us to plan your visit.


Reservation Cancellation Policy

  • Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Dinner Reservations: There is a $5 per person cancellation charge if the cancellation occurs the same day as the reservation.

  • Parties of 10 or more people (including children): Guests may cancel or modify their reservations without incurring a fee up until midnight, two days prior to the date of their reservation. Cancellations or party size changes within 48 hours of the reservation date will incur a fee of $10 per person.


Dessert & Corkage Fees

  • While we offer delicious house-made desserts, we also accommodate guests who wish to bring their own desserts, for a $25 fee (added to the final bill).

  • We offer a full-service bar, including house-made cocktails & mocktails, beer, wine, spirits and more. Guests wishing to bring their own wine can do so for a $25 per bottle corkage fee (added to the final bill).

Holiday Hours

Please take note of the following special timings for 2026:

  • Basant is excited to be participating in Chicago Restaurant Week ‘26, from Friday, January 23, 2026 through Saturday, February 7, 2026. During this time, in addition to a limited a la carte menu, Basant will be offering prix fixe dinner and Sunday brunch menus.

  • Basant will be closed on Sunday, February 8, 2026.

  • Basant will be participating in North Side Restaurant Week ‘26, from February 26, 2026 to March 8, 2026. Stay tuned for details on prix fixe menu and pricing!
